Abstract

La torre de la catedral de Murcia, considerada la arquitectura más icónica de la Región de Murcia tras varios siglos de construcción, se presenta como motivo de investigación, no por su valor patrimonial de sobra conocido y por el que se ha escrito, sino por su protagonismo en las artes a partir del último tercio del siglo XIX hasta la actualidad. Se trata de posicionar la torre, una de las primeras manifestaciones del renacimiento en suelo español, en el lugar que le corresponde desde sus reinterpretaciones estéticas en las artes, legado vivo y simbólico que establece un vínculo con generaciones de artistas, que mantienen un idilio constante y totalmente presente, por el que analizamos cómo se ha convertido en el elemento más representado pictóricamente en la ciudad de Murcia.

The tower of the Cathedral of Murcia, considered the most iconic architecture in the Region of Murcia after several centuries of construction, is presented as a reason for investigation, not because of its well-known heritage value and for which it has been written, but because of its role in the arts from the last third of the 19th century to the present. It is about positioning the tower, one of the first manifestations of the Renaissance on Spanish soil, in its rightful place from its aesthetic reinterpretations in the arts, a living and symbolic legacy that establishes a link with generations of artists, who maintain a constant idyll. and totally present, for which we analyze how it has become the most pictorially represented element in the city of Murcia.
