Abstract
En la presente Tesis Doctoral se analiza la TDT como innovación y el proceso de transición a la TDT como proceso de Difusión de la Innovación. Tras el análisis teórico inicial efectuado, se decide dar un enfoque cualitativo a la investigación, apoyado fundamentalmente en la Teoría enunciada por Everett Rogers. Se desarrolla un modelo de comparación entre procesos de transición nacionales, basado en los factores de influencia externa, acciones de comunicación cuyo origen son los actores interesados en su adopción y no los adoptantes potenciales de la misma. Como caso de estudio aplicado, se escoge a España e Italia, dos países destacados por la elevada penetración y las singularidades de sus modelos de Televisión por Ondas Terrestres. Tras el seguimiento de las principales acciones de difusión de la innovación se procede a la comparación entre ambos procesos haciendo uso del modelo desarrollado.
